Best of Bellingham - Fairhaven Businesses

Best of Bellingham- from the Cascadia Weekly Congratulations to the winners!

Best Neighborhood: Fairhaven

In the decade we’ve been surveying people’s preferences, we’ve noticed a steady drain away from Fairhaven toward Downtown. And, at the same time, the Southside’s transformation from a bombed-out ruin to a regional destination. Coincidence? Oh, Fairhaven’s still a favorite-a shopable, walkable district peppered with great little bars and warm, fragrant nooks to read and chat. But Downtown is coming on fast in popularity, particularly among hipsters who favor a grittier urban scene.

Best Asian: On Rice Thai Cuisine

On Rice serves delicious food with subtle and complex flavors. Sweet dishes do not overwhelm and hot dishes sear with more than just red pepper flakes or garlic chili sauce. We could ask for a little more rice to accompany our dishes, but the vegetables are fresh, the meats are savory and the tofu is holy.
